From Blazer grads to Blazer teachers, we are thankful to have our hometown educators like Mrs. Holly Cockrell! Holly is a 1994 graduate of Valley View High School. She has been in education for 19 years and is currently teaching  AP Literature and English 12 in the high school. Holly’s favorite memories of being a student at Valley View are the homemade cinnamon rolls at lunch, driver's ed class with Coach Moore and Coach Thomas, pep rally days, and hanging out in the snake pit with her friends. She and several classmates still get together once a month! #TeamBlazer #Blazergrads

🏫 The Valley View School Board toured the new addition to the Intermediate prior to the start of the March board meeting. The addition will include a new cafeteria, 15 classrooms, and a nurse’s station! ✏️📚✨ #BlazerPride

This is a statement on behalf of the Valley View School District. At approximately 11:30am, administrators were informed that a possible weapon was brought to school by a Jr High student. Administrators immediately contacted the school resource officer to assist in the investigation. It was identified that the student was at an off-campus school event. An airsoft gun was found in the student’s backpack. Based on the investigation to this point, no threats were made and no students were in immediate danger. Safety of students and staff is the top priority for our district.

In years past, students in grades 3-10 have taken the ACT Aspire as the state grade level summative assessment each year. This year, students in grades 3-10 will be taking the ATLAS 3-10 General Summative assessments. This test is still given online, and assesses students in Reading/English Language Arts, Writing, Mathematics, and Science. Students in grades 3-10 will be taking the ATLAS 3-10 General Summative Writing assessment during the weeks of March 4-11. The writing assessment is earlier this year to ensure time for scoring with the new assessment. Please make sure to have your child present and on-time for their testing session. Students will have to make up the assessment if missed. Students are allowed to bring a snack to eat during break. Please direct any questions to your child’s counselor.
