From Blazer grads to Blazer teachers, we are thankful to have our hometown educators like Mr. Bubba Carter!
Bubba is a 1990 graduate of Valley View High School. He has been the Network Administrator for Valley View School District for 18 years.
Bubba’s favorite memories of being a student at Valley View are hanging out with friends during lunch and hacking the computer system (little did he know what the future would hold for him as a Blazer). He is very thankful for the staff at Valley View for supporting and encouraging him! 💙💛

This is an automated message from Valley View Public Schools.
The camel bus was delayed in arriving to school this morning due to an incident on Darr Hill Road. The bus was not involved in an accident. All students are now on campus.
February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month! 🎉
At Valley View, we are dedicated to cultivating the development of the next generation through career technical education. Our Medical Academy, featuring a comprehensive curriculum with two pathways, ensures that future healthcare professionals acquire the fundamental knowledge and expertise necessary for success in their future chosen fields. 🌐👩⚕️👨⚕️
🩸 This week marked the beginning of our Medical Lab class's exploration into the intricacies of phlebotomy—a foundational skill set that will be more comprehensively integrated throughout the semester. Our students explored critical aspects, including the bloodborne pathogen standard, self-protection protocols, precise needle stick techniques, and the application of diverse blood drawing methodologies.
Throughout the semester, students will have the unique opportunity to engage with mock patients and conduct blood draws as an integral part of their patient assessment, if deemed necessary by the student. This hands-on experience further enriches their education, allowing them to apply theoretical knowledge in practical scenarios.

It's time for our annual Make-A-Wish Fundraiser! This year our fundraising efforts hit closer to home as we have two Valley View students awaiting a wish! Let's work together to meet our district goal of $16,000! ⭐️
Valley View School District will be hosting a Pie in the Face Fundraiser! Each student will be given the opportunity to bring a $1 (or more) to enter a chance to PIE building administrators in the FACE! (Example: If you donate $5, your child's name will be entered into the drawing 5 times.)
The goal of Make-A-Wish is to raise funds to grant a wish for a child with a critical illness. Through this effort, we hope that our students will not only experience the importance of giving, but also learn to apprecaite the gift of good health.

Based upon recent guidance provided by the Arkansas Department of Education, school districts now have the option to make up snow days by submitting a waiver request to modify the current 2023-2024 school calendar from a traditional calendar (178 six-hour days required) to an alternate calendar (minimum of 1,068 instructional hours).
Rather than making up missed days following Memorial Day as planned in the current traditional calendar, our district plans to change to an alternate (hours) calendar that utilizes extra instructional minutes built into each school day for the remainder of the second semester to meet the required 1,068 hours. This means that no additional days will need to be added to the calendar for students in grades K-12 and the last day of school will be Friday, May 24, 2024. In order to not only make up the two days missed but also bank additional instructional time for potential future inclement weather days, each building will push back dismissal 5 minutes starting on Monday, January 29, 2024.
At this time, Pre-K students and staff will still make up the missed days on May 28th and May 29th due to the ABC funding requirement to have 178 student contact days. However, the state is looking into possible options for ABC programs to align with their local school district’s plan. When our district receives additional guidance from the state, updated information will be provided.
Thank you for your understanding as our district makes these adjustments based on the new options available to meet state requirements and make the most of instructional time.

Mrs. Sarah’s kindergarten class enjoyed writing consonant-vowel-consonant words in a sensory writing activity earlier in the week! Always a fun activity for our students! 🎉

From Blazer grads to Blazer teachers, we are thankful to have our hometown educators like Mrs. Holly Turley.
Holly is a 1994 graduate of Valley View High School. She has been teaching for 24 years and is currently the High School Library/Media Specialist.
Holly’s favorite memories of being a student at Valley View are hanging out in the breezeway at lunch, being told “you should be typing, not talking” at least once a day by Mrs. Bryant, and so many other great memories of all of the other wonderful educators who worked to shape us into responsible young people, yet also loved us through all of our nonsense! 💙💛

Mrs. Hutchison’s Valley View High School students recently participated in a rat dissection. Dissection provides a great hands on learning opportunity. Students develop skills and knowledge about the three-dimensional nature of the muscular system and major organ systems. The kids did a fantastic job!
