💙💛 #BlazerLoveStories 💛💙 It all started in Mr. Holt’s Algebra class in 1984… 📚✏️ Lee was a junior, and Debbie was a freshman at Valley View. Mr. Holt had a habit of moving Lee to the back of the room on test days to make sure he earned an honest grade. 😂 But little did he know, this move led Lee to seek outside tutoring—where he not only found help with math but also the beginning of a #BlazerLoveStory❤️✨ Debbie wasn’t just a math whiz—she went on to graduate Valedictorian of her class! 🎓👏 Fast forward… Lee & Debbie had a daughter, Madison in 1995, who proudly graduated from Valley View in 2014. 🏫🎉 They have been happily married for 36 years, and their Blazer Pride runs deep with generations of family members carrying on the tradition. 💙💛 These days, you’ll find them still active in the Valley View community—where Lee serves on the School Board. 🚌 Lee and Debbie love cooking, spending time outdoors, and chasing after their 3 ½-year-old grandson, Wyatt! 👶💙 #BlazerPride🔥

💙💛#BlazerLoveStories💛💙 Doyle “Pete” & Anita Griffin Yarbrough’s #BlazerLoveStory began in 1945 when they were just 7th graders—growing up on family farms in the Valley View community 🌾. From chopping cotton alongside classmates to building a lifetime of memories, their #BlazerLoveStory is still going strong today! ❤️ In 1950, they graduated from Valley View High School, where Anita was Vice President of her class and played basketball 🏀, while Pete left school at noon to work on the farm 🚜. In 1953, they tied the knot 💍, but shortly after, Pete was called to serve in the Army 🇺🇸 for two years. Their love for Valley View and their Blazer pride 💙💛 has carried on through generations! Their children, Ken Yarbrough (Class of 76) and Susie Yarbrough Parish (Class of 82), have passed down the tradition to their own children: 👶 Grandchildren: ✨ Kendall Yarbrough Gartman (Class of ‘01) ✨ Jay Yarbrough (Class of ’02) ✨ Cody Parish (Class of ’09) ✨ Cady Parish (Class of ’16) And now, the next generation is keeping the legacy alive! 💫 👶 Great-Grandchildren: ✨ Allison Shelby (Class of ’24) ✨ Hayden Gartman (Class of ’25) ✨ Drew Gartman (Class of ’25) ✨ Plus, Quinn, Kye, Major, Nora, Mia, Lane, & Stetson—future Blazer graduates!🎓💙 Four generations (and counting!) of #BlazerPride and a #BlazerLoveStory 💛💙

🚨After driving roads throughout the district at different times today, multiple roads remain snow/ice covered. Due to the number of students who live on these impacted roads and in order to prioritize safety, Valley View Public Schools will remain closed on Friday, February 21, 2025.❄️ 🏀The Homecoming Basketball game vs. GCT at Blazer Arena will proceed as scheduled. The presentation of the Homecoming Court will begin at 5:30pm with the basketball games to follow. 📚Valley View School District will utilize the built-in inclement weather instructional hours already included in the 2024-2025 district calendar so no makeup days will need to be added to the calendar due to this closure.
