📚✏️ Ms. Leonard’s 10th-grade English class has been diving into Black History Month with a meaningful research project! 🌟 Students explored the lives and accomplishments of influential Black figures, from trailblazing leaders to groundbreaking artists and athletes. After their research, they shared their findings with classmates, celebrating the impact and legacy of these inspiring individuals. 🙌🏽🎤✨

Applications for the 2025-2026 Mayor's Youth Advancement Council are now open! Students who will be in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade NEXT year, and attend a Jonesboro area high school (Jonesboro, Nettleton, Valley View, Westside, home-school, and private school) are encouraged to apply for The Mayor's Youth Advancement Council of Jonesboro! Applications are open from February 15, 2025, and close on April 1, 2025, for the 2025-2026 school year. Please fill out the application form for consideration. Two letters of recommendation are required for new members, one from a teacher or administrator at your school, and one from a community member. Be a voice for your community! Due to the timing of inclement weather forecasted tomorrow afternoon, Valley View Public Schools will dismiss two (2) hours early on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 with bus and car rider dismissal beginning at 1:00pm. All afterschool and evening activities, including the Excel afterschool program, are cancelled for Tuesday. It is our desire to provide this information on the district's planned early dismissal now so that our Valley View families can coordinate pickup and afterschool care accordingly. Thank you for your understanding as we seek to prioritize the safety of all our students, staff and Blazer families.

🎨🖌 Mrs. Counce’s Drawing Classes are putting their artistic skills to the test with portrait projects this week! 🖼️✨ Students have been learning about facial proportions, shading, and value techniques to bring their drawings to life. We can’t wait to see their finished masterpieces! 👏

🚀 Robotics in Action! 🤖 Mr. Krenn’s Robotics' students took hands-on learning to the next level by building robots with VEX kits and coding them to play freeze tag! ❄️🏃‍♂️ The students combined creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork to bring their robots to life in an exciting, interactive way.
