Survivorship Curves… with Bubbles? 🫧🌎 In Mrs. Coat's Environmental Science class. students took a hands-on approach to studying survivorship curves—using bubbles! Each bubble represented a life, and students had different roles: protecting them, letting nature take its course, or popping them as quickly as possible. By gathering data from their experiment, they will model different types of survivorship curves and analyze real-world population dynamics. Learning about life expectancy has never been so poppable!

📢 Congratulations to Our Valley View Congressional App Challenge Winners, Hazim Ragab and Charles Kelley! 🎉💙💛 We are incredibly proud of our two Valley View students who placed 2nd in the Arkansas Congressional App Challenge with their creation of the Jonesboro 411 App! These students, both members of The Mayor’s Youth Advancement Council (MYAC), demonstrated innovation and leadership in developing an app to benefit our community. 🏆 Their achievement was recognized by Congressman Rick Crawford today at the at the NEA Career Tech Center. The students were celebrated alongside Mayor Copenhaver, his staff, VVHS administration and counselors, and the students’ families to celebrate this exciting accomplishment. 🚀 Rocket Science in Action! 🚀 Mrs. Bailey’s Accelerated Chemistry class took learning to the next level by making mini rockets! Students experimented with chemical reactions, calculating the perfect ratio of reactants to achieve maximum propulsion. They launched their rockets high in the cafeteria to see which rocket could soar the highest! Science, precision, and a whole lot of fun—what a blast!

After a snow day, Valley View High School physics students are jumping right back into hands-on learning!, They are designing bungee cords for Barbie, preparing for an epic bungee jump from the 2nd floor of the high school! 🪂 Students are calculating elastic potential energy and kinetic energy as part of their study on work, energy, and power.
