🌍💡 Mrs. Mayfield’s AP World History students recently wrapped up their “Autopsy of an Empire” projects! Each group brought history to life by illustrating famous figures from major land empires—complete with symbolic “wounds” that represented the causes of their decline.
What a creative and memorable way to explore how great empires rose and fell! ⚔️📜

📚 Mrs. Kelly Findley’s 11th Graders have been busy diving into their Independent Reading Projects!
Each student selected a book to read over the nine weeks and created a poster to present to the class — highlighting the plot, theme, characters, and meaningful quotes from their chosen story. ✨

Señor Políos class closed Hispanic Heritage month with a history event !
It was an amazing event to have our students display trifolds, and let the community know about the Hispanic Americans that have made differences!
Salas grill provided support and food to bring it all together!
💙💛💙

Another big award for Hazim Ragab!
Hazim won the Computer Science Student of Distinction (CSSoD) award.
Hazim was 1 of 64 selected for the award and the only one from this side of the state.
The Computer Science Student of Distinction (CSSoD) award recognizes outstanding high school juniors and seniors who demonstrate exceptional interest and potential in computer science and honors students who represent the future of computing innovation in Arkansas! 🖥️💙💛

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Half of our seniors completed their FSA IDs on Wednesday, and the other half will finish theirs on Friday morning! The FSA ID serves as the student’s electronic signature for the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and allows them to securely access and sign their financial aid forms online.
Now it’s your turn! One parent will also need to create an FSA ID to complete the parent portion of the FAFSA. This should be the parent who filed the student on their 2024 tax return.
Please create your FSA ID here:
Steps to Create Your FSA ID:
Click “Get Started.”
Fill out the required personal information and answer the questions carefully.
Do not use the same phone number or email address that your student used when creating their FSA ID. Each FSA ID must have unique contact information.
Once complete, keep your username and password in a secure place—you’ll need it each year your student is in college.
💡 Very Important Tip:
Start a note in your phone titled “FSA ID and FAFSA Info.”
Record everything in that note—your username, password, security questions and answers, and any related details.
Avoid taking a picture of your login info—it will get lost in your camera roll. You will need this information every year your child attends college or any postsecondary school to complete the FAFSA form.
Creating your FSA ID now ensures your family is ready to complete the FAFSA smoothly when you begin the full application process.
Here is the link to complete the FAFSA once you have completed the FSA ID portion: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re happy to help!

🎓 College visits have been in full swing!
We’ve had representatives from the University of Arkansas and Arkansas State University on campus, speaking with our seniors and juniors about their futures, scholarship opportunities, and college life.
Thank you to Mr. Crader, Mrs. Dorris, and Mrs. Cockrell for welcoming our guests into your classrooms and helping our students take the next step toward their goals! 💙💛

🌎 In Mrs. Heather Hutchison’s AP Environmental Science class, students are getting their hands dirty with soil testing! 🧪
They’re analyzing soil quality, fertility, and possible contamination to better understand how it impacts ecosystems, agriculture, and environmental health. 🌱🔬
Learning about the world starts right beneath our feet!
