Happy Administrative Assistant Day to Mrs. Leila and Mrs. Becky! They are the best and VVHS couldn’t make it without them! We love and appreciate you!

Knowing that there would be several visitors in the Jonesboro area this past weekend and in anticipation of the solar eclipse yesterday, our Valley View Interact students wanted to help our visitors have a good first impression of our town. We joined with the Jonesboro Rotary Club to help clean up at the corner of Woodsprings Road and Alexander Drive. Great job, Blazers!

The Valley View School District has continued to monitor the latest local event plans, district staffing data, and updates from local and state officials regarding the Total Solar Eclipse that will occur in our area on April 8, 2024. Based on our review of all current data, Valley View School District campuses will be closed for in-person instruction on Monday, April 8. This date will be an Alternate Methods of Instruction (AMI) day to ensure the safety of all students and staff with the projected impacts on traffic before and during dismissal time and due to the impact closures of other facilities have had on district staff available to report to work. Next week each student will be provided ISO-certified glasses to bring home to experience the eclipse off campus. Instructional activities and resources will be posted on our district website to supplement other eclipse activities Blazer families may have planned for this date. The district appreciates your understanding of this decision as area plans have continued to evolve in preparation for the event.

🎨VVHS Art Show- Thursday, March 28th

Happy Pi Day! VVHS students spent the day measuring circumference and diameter of circular objects around the school to see how accurately we could calculate pi. After averaging everyone’s answers we were able to correctly calculate pi to four decimal places!

👀 Let's take a look into Mrs. Bailey's Chemistry class...
🤍S’more Stoichiometry 🖤
Students learned through different calculations that you may not be able to make the entire product you want given the amount of reactants supplied. This is a fun and yummy way to learn how to calculate limiting and excess reactants!

"Mrs. Dorris makes my day so much better every time I walk into her classroom and takes her time to explain our assignments so we will understand!”

This year, students in grades 3-10 will be taking the ATLAS 3-10 General Summative assessments. This test is still given online, and assesses students in Reading/English Language Arts, Writing, Mathematics, and Science.
Students in grades 3-10 will be taking the ATLAS 3-10 General Summative Writing assessment during the weeks of March 4-11. The writing assessment is earlier this year to ensure time for scoring with the new assessment. Please make sure to have your child present and on-time for their testing session. Students will have to make up the assessment if missed. Students are allowed to bring a snack to eat during break. Please direct any questions to your child’s counselor.
