The Blazer family mourns the passing of Ms. June Horne, who faithfully served Valley View School District for 36 years as a teacher, counselor, assistant principal, and Pre-K director of her alma mater. Our thoughts and prayers are with her children, Chance and Hannah, her family, and the countless friends whose lives were touched by her genuine care, unwavering encouragement, and selfless spirit. Throughout her career, Ms. Horne was a mentor, encourager, and advocate for countless students, families, and fellow educators. She poured her heart into serving others, and her influence reached far beyond the classroom. Her legacy of compassion, leadership, and dedication will continue to live on in the many lives she touched. Thank you, Ms. Horne, for your years of faithful service and for the lasting impact you made on our Blazer family. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Once a Blazer, Always a Blazer! 💙💛

If you have children entering multiple Valley View buildings, this will be a one-stop registration—you can take care of everything in one place. 📣Kindergarten Screening is TUESDAY! 📅 Kindergarten Student Screening Day is Tuesday, July 21. Screening Day allows students to complete a kindergarten readiness checklist, socialize with peers, and become familiar with the elementary building. A letter was mailed with a name tag and a pick up tag for your child. Please make sure that your child is wearing their name tag at arrival. If you did not receive a letter in the mail, please notify a faculty member at drop-off. Parents will drop off in front of the elementary. Students are divided into groups by LAST names: 🌟A-L: 8:00-9:30 🌟M-Z: 10:30-12:00 If your child is enrolled in Excel, they have already been screened, so there’s no need to attend this screening as well. 🤗 For pick up, parents will park in the parking lot by Ruritan Park and follow the sidewalk in front of the elementary to the cafeteria. Pick up procedures should take 20 minutes to recap the morning. If you need to register your child for kindergarten, please contact the elementary office.
