Yesterday we had a very special guest visit our library to read to our Kindergarten classes! 💙💛
Mrs. Amy Simpson, our former librarian, came to read a book that she and Mrs. Ransone wrote and illustrated about the history of Valley View School District. She shared fun and fascinating facts from the past 100 years of Valley View—what a perfect way to celebrate our 100th Day during our 100th year of being a Blazer📚✨
And thanks to our amazing PTA, every Kindergarten student received a copy of this special book to take home and keep! Thank you so much PTA! We are so grateful for such a meaningful day of learning and celebration 💙💛

‼️ Reminder! ‼️
💙 Basketball Registration closes THURSDAY JANUARY 22, 2026! 💙
No late registration will be accepted.
Hurry before it's too late!🏀

It’s READING WEDNESDAY! 💙💛
At Valley View Elementary, students can search for books all week long as they pass by the library! The walls around the library doors are covered with hundreds of colorful book covers 💙💛
On their library checkout day, students come in and tell Mrs. Cooper which book caught their eye from the hallway. While we always say “don’t judge a book by its cover,” those covers can spark curiosity and excitement—especially for students who are still learning to love reading 💙💛
Sometimes, a fun cover is all it takes to inspire a student to pick up a book and start a new reading adventure! 📚💙💛

🎨✨ We recently had a local celebrity visit Valley View! Dale Case joined our 2nd graders for a fun How to Draw painting lesson. Students loved creating art alongside a local artist—what a special experience! 🖌️😊

It’s Reading Wednesday! 📖
Students get to enjoy their newly checked-out books while finding a cozy spot around the library to relax, read, and dive into a great story. From comfy corners to quiet spaces, the library is the perfect place to slow down and get lost in a book! 💙

🏀 Elementary Intramurals are coming soon! 🏀
1st & 2nd grade students will have the chance to sign up this week! Intramurals will run from the first week of February through the first week of March.
We’re also looking for volunteers to coach—please consider helping make this a fun experience for our kids! 💙🧡

🎉 Last month, teachers picked two students from each class and they received a golden ticket. They were able to pick out their very own FREE book to keep forever and use The Book Nook. Our goal is simple: get a book into every child’s hands and help grow a lifelong love of reading ❤️
Thank you for helping us turn pages, spark joy, and inspire young readers at Valley View! 🌟
